Dr. Markley has 12 plus years life sciences industry experience that spans the continuum of life sciences technology development and commercialization. Dr. Markley is a co-founder and Principal of Tech Avenue Ventures Corp. (www.taventures.ca), a venture development company which operates on a value-creation/value sharing model and provides its portfolio companies with strategic and operational support in the areas
of business planning, intellectual property protection, business development and licensing, sales and marketing, product development, market research, regulatory, manufacturing and financing, across multiple industries including consumer products, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Markley's past industry positions include Managing Director of Botaneco, where she lead the development of an integrated ingredient business involving manufacturing, R&D, Sales and Marketing, and launch of the Company's first commercial product into the personal care marketplace; prior to this, Dr. Markley held the position of Director of Business Development for SemBioSys Genetics, a plant biotechnology company developing protein pharmaceuticals. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Calgary.
